To provide the practical skills and the operating safety knowledge necessary for operators to correctly prepare, safely operate and maintain a counterbalance lift truck (ACOP117)

Responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER 1998, LOLER 1998 and other relevant legislation.

ABA Groupings

Counterbalance Pedestrian (Group A3)

Counterbalance Lift Truck up to and including 5 tonne * (Group B1)

Counterbalance Lift Truck over 5 tonne – up to and including 15 tonne * (Group B2)

Counterbalance lift truck over 15 tonne * (Group B3)

Stand-on Counterbalance (Group B4)

* Vehicle Mounted Lift Trucks will be given the category more closely aligned to the truck e.g. T (B1) or T (D1)

Course Requirements
A room for the theory session and a safe area for the practical session, with use of the Industrial Counterbalance.

The Instructor is required to see the machine/equipment’s LOLER certificate before commencement of the course.

3 palletised loads.

Attachments on site if they require these on their certification.

External Transport such as Lorry / Van / Trailer etc if assessment on loading and unloading is applicable.

Certification & Validation

This course can be registered with different awarding bodies if required, or simply a Kentra card – as a registered training provider we can supply a plastic ID card as proof of training, suitable for the HSE and insurances.

If an awarding body validation is required we will need to notify them prior to the course, so please mention this when booking.
Candidates successfully completing this course will receive one of the following certifications:

Kentra validation and plastic ID card

CPCS registration and plastic ID card

Lantra Awards registration and plastic ID card

ITSSAR certificate / licence

RTITB certificate / licence

NPORS registration and plastic ID card N001 Industrial Counterbalance training course.
