To provide the practical skills and the operating safety knowledge necessary to train operators to correctly prepare, safely operate and correctly maintain a Tow Tractor
On completion of the course trainees will have an understanding of the following, safety rules and operating procedures, importance of good maintenance and safe operation. stability and mobility considerations when operating equipment, carry-out pre-shift checks and daily maintenance on their machine, drive the machine safely and competently and manoeuvre in a forward and reverse direction with a trailed implement
Responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974, and other relevant legislation and guidelines
Pre-operational checks and daily maintenance
Battery care and refueling procedures
Mobility and stability factors
Safety rules applicable to operating
Safe use of trailers
Tow Tractor and Trailer, Rider – H1
Tow Tractor and Trailer, Pedestrian – H2
Tow Tractor over 30,000kg Draw Bar Pull, Rider – H3
A room for the theory session and a safe area for the practical session.
Certification & Validation
This course can be registered with different awarding bodies if required, or simply a Kentra card – as a registered training provider we can supply a plastic ID card as proof of training, suitable for the HSE and insurances.
If an awarding body validation is required we will need to notify them prior to the course, so please mention this when booking.
Candidates successfully completing this course will receive one of the following certifications:
