Abrasive Wheels training course’s are available for all levels of experience, this Petrol Driven cut off saw training course is designed for operators, managers and supervisors, who use select or specify abrasive wheels as defined in the PUWER regulations.

Abrasive Wheels – Petrol Driven Cut off Saw Ratio: 

6 Candidates: 1 Instructor, Duration: 1 day Including practical session with the Cut off saw.

Course includes practical session of cutting, grinding, wheel mounting etc.

Aim
Safe use of abrasive wheel Petrol driven cut off saw; to create a safe system of work and to understand the need for accident prevention & control, to enable candidates to work safely, with the awareness of the dangers of abrasive wheels.

Legality

Abrasive Wheels and Petrol driven cut off saw’s are covered under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER), and it is a legal requirement for those involved in the use of abrasive wheels to receive adequate training on mounting and safe use.

Course Content
Health & safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER 1998 and other relevant legislation
Safety Awareness session
Pre start checks on differing machines
Inspection of grinding wheels / discs
Changing cutting wheels / discs

Practical cutting / grinding

Course Requirements
A room for the theory session and a practical session using the Petrol driven cut off saw.

Delegates will be expected to provide their own PPE. Including Helmet, Hearing, leg, eye protection and gloves. Safety Boots or steel toe capped boots.

Certification & Validation
The Petrol driven cut off saw training course can be registered with different awarding bodies if required, or simply a Kentra card – as a registered training provider we can supply a plastic ID card as proof of training, suitable for the HSE and insurances.

If an awarding body validation is required we will need to notify them prior to the course, so please mention this when booking.

Candidates successfully completing this course will receive one of the following certifications:
