The L’s today in our series of short blogs looking at the A to Z of courses we do, continuing with Lorry Loader. Used by lots of building supply companies for easy delivery of equipment and materials.
Course ratios – Lorry Loader
The course durations, training and testing ratios are
Novices : 1 – 2 days 3 delegates or tests
Refresher & Test : 1 day, up to 3 delegates or tests
Experienced Worker Tests (EWT) : 1 day for up to 4 tests.
One main point that we have to be careful of when cooking courses for the Lorry Loader is the variations of machine that the candidates may require.
The course variations are
*Remote Controlled (E) *Manual (F) * which the instructor can only tick one per test, if both are required – that’s two tests.
Then we have the attachments, again this is one per test.
Clamshell Bucket (Grab) (A) Crane Swivel Hook (B) Brick / Block Clamp (C) Vehicle Lifting Frame (D) or Other (Z)
So if the candidates use both Grab and Hook, this is 2 tests.
Here is a link to the course syllabus blog, containing all the information you need to know about the training we can offer.
Accreditation
Upon successful completion of the course the candidates will received a Kentra Training ID card (credit card size) detailing the course completed.
In addition, we have the option to register the training with our Awarding Body NPORS. www.npors.com If your candidates are working offsite or on other peoples premises a recognised Awarding Body membership maybe advantageous. Prior to training we would apply to NPORS to register the course and upon successful completion of the course we would apply for the candidates 5 year membership with the NPORS scheme.
NPORS Course Name : N209 Loading Shovel
