NPORS Report of Thorough Examination
As many of you know Kentra Training was established in 1997 by Norman Kennish. Straight away the company registered with NPORS as a training provider. Our registration is number 66 and we are now one of the longest serving TP’s with them, delivering nearly 100 different training courses, including our own unique NPORS Small Plant and Portable Tools course and also the NPORS Report of Thorough Examination course, which is what this blog is about.
Report of Thorough Examination, what a mouthful – its like a word salad, a big name but not really telling you what it does. The course title is actually the official name of the reports you will be able to produce. Out in the real world everyone calls them LOLER certificates, LOLER being the regulation the reports fall under.
I don’t want to bore you too much, but we have a couple of previously written blogs which maybe of interest.

NPORS Report of Thorough Examination
What is a Report of Thorough Examination? According to the HSE, a Report of Thorough Examination is a systematic and detailed examination of the equipment and its safety-critical parts. This is carried out at specified intervals by a competent person who must then complete a written report.
This is what our course covers and we take you through how to complete this written report inspecting small lifting equipment and accessories. Upon successful completion of the training course you will be the competent person able to inspect small lifting equipment and accessories.
