The National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS) was established in 1992 and has grown to become one of the UK’s leading accreditation and registration bodies. Today, NPORS supports training and compliance across a wide range of sectors, including construction, industrial, utilities, warehousing and distribution, agriculture, ports, and marine.

Our Story
We’ve been around a long time — in fact, Kentra Training is older than Google. When our Managing Director, Norman Kennish, founded the company in 1997, he created the name as a simple mix of Kennish and Training. What he didn’t expect was the number of enquiries we’d receive from places much further afield with the same name!
Our name stands for practical, professional training that puts safety first.

NPORS
The National Plant Operators Registration Scheme, or NPORS as it is more commonly know was established in 1992, NPORS is now one of the UK’s leading Accreditation and Registration Bodies, working across the Construction, Industrial, Utilities, Warehousing and Distribution, Agricultural, Ports and Marine sectors.
NPORS training offers flexibility, whilst maintaining standards, both nationally and internationally by working with industry and Accredited Training Providers.
Health & Safety NVQs
In order to achieve a Construction Plant Competency Scheme (CPCS) card or NPORS CSCS card, candidates must achieve a full Plant Operations (PO) NVQ or, where a full NVQ is not available, the relevant NVQ units.
Kentra can help to provide the necessary assessment and verification service to assist candidates in achieving the full NVQ. This service is aimed at new plant operators looking to gain formal recognition for their plant operating skills.
