Abrasive Wheels training and testing is designed to educate individuals on the safe operation of abrasive wheels and machinery. The training covers topics such as choosing the right wheel for the job, handling, storing, and mounting abrasive wheels, as well as potential hazards and safety precautions.

During testing, participants are evaluated on their knowledge and practical skills related to abrasive wheels, such as identifying different types of wheels, understanding safety guidelines, and demonstrating correct procedures for mounting and using abrasive wheels and angle grinders.

Training and Testing

Angle grinder training and testing involves instruction on the safe and proper use of angle grinders, which are handheld power tools commonly used for cutting, grinding, and polishing materials. Training covers various aspects, including:

  1. Introduction to angle grinders and their components.
  2. Safety precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) required when using angle grinders.
  3. Selection of the correct type of grinder and accessories for the task.
  4. Techniques for safe operation, including handling, positioning, and maintaining control.
  5. Hazard identification and risk assessment related to angle grinder use.
  6. Practical demonstrations and hands-on practice to develop proficiency.

Testing may involve assessing participants’ knowledge, understanding of safety protocols, and practical skills related to operating an angle grinder safely and effectively.

All the NPORS courses consist of a theory session, which for novice courses include full training and presentation.  Refresher and test courses are just a recap of training any changes in legislation or updates on new regulations etc.   Whereas Experienced Workers Tests, are straight in to the theory test, which consists of 5 questions to answer in full, and 20 multiple choice. The theory test required pass mark is 80%.
