Lot’s of P’s to get through in our series of short blogs looking at the A to Z of courses we do, the last P is one of the latest courses introduced by NPORS, Post Rammer.

The course covers just like the name suggests, machines used for Post Ramming or knocking into the ground, most often used by farmers and fence erectors.

Course ratios – Post Rammer

The course durations, training and testing ratios are

Novice : 1-3 day 3 Delegates

Refresher and Test : 1 day 3 Delegates

Experienced Worker Assessments : 1 day for up to 6 delegates.

Accreditation

Upon successful completion of the course the candidates will received a Kentra Training ID card (credit card size) detailing the course completed.

In addition, we have the option to register the training with our Awarding Body NPORS. www.npors.com   If your candidates are working offsite or on other peoples premises a recognised Awarding Body membership maybe advantageous. Prior to training we would apply to NPORS to register the course and upon successful completion of the course we would apply for the candidates 5 year membership with the NPORS scheme.

Training locations

At Kentra we have always provided on-site training, coming to you and delivering the training in your own space using the equipment you are used to using.

We will require a room for the theory session and a safe area for the practical session.

An area suitable to reverse the post rammer for 30m, then to prepare and set up the post rammer for work, with all power sources in preparation for ramming.

Erect posts at desired spaces and set at required depth, ensuring the post is plumb throughout the ramming process.

A minimum of 5 posts must be erected to the correct given depth, being driven down to at least 25% of its full length or to the specified depth. Placement must be within 75mm of given position and  erected within a maximum 10° from vertical.

Remove a post using the manufacturers rammer attachment (if applicable)

All lifting equipment / accessories must have current test certification be in good working order.
