This series of short blogs is looking at the A to Z of courses we do. We are up to the middle of S’s and this blog covers NPORS S001 Safety Awareness, this course highlights potential hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe.
NPORS S001 – Construction Safety Awareness Course has been mapped as a full equivalent to the QCF Level 1 Award Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. This means that in addition to plant operators undertaking this course, labourers who have achieved the NPORS Site Safety Awareness Course can apply for the CSCS green Labourers Card once they have also passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Operatives Test.
Course Overview
This course highlights potential hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.
This course provides health and safety awareness and is endorsed by Build UK as standard training for all operatives on site.
At The End Of The Course You Will Have An Understanding Of:
• the need to prevent accidents
• health and safety law
• how your role fits into the control and management of the site
• risk assessments and method statements
• performing safely and asking for advice
• how to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident

Safety Awareness course ratio’s
1 day course for up to 20 candidates : 1 instructor
Accreditation
Upon successful completion of the course the candidates will received an NPORS Operator card www.npors.com Upon successful completion of the course we would apply for the candidates 5 year membership with the NPORS scheme.
Training location
At Kentra we have always provided on-site training, coming to you and delivering the training in your own space.
To provide an alternative we opened our Training Centre in October 2018, and have achieved NPORS accreditation, meaning that you can come to us and we can register the training with the awarding body if required.
