👷♂️ Appointed Person Training – Leading Safe Lifting Operations
When it comes to lifting operations, safety isn’t just about the operator—it starts with the person planning the lift. That’s why the role of the Appointed Person (AP) is so important. This qualified individual is responsible for the planning, risk assessment, and execution of lifting operations in accordance with legal and safety standards.
At Kentra Training, we offer Appointed Person Training designed to give candidates the knowledge and confidence to carry out their responsibilities effectively and legally.
📋 What Is an Appointed Person?
In accordance with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998, an Appointed Person is someone with the necessary practical and theoretical knowledge and experience to plan lifting operations safely.

Ensuring safe systems of work are in place
Coordinating teams, including crane operators, slinger – signallers and crane lift supervisors
