The different course options available
There are two different course options for the ATV training courses available.
- ATV – Sit Astride (for quad bike type machines)
- ATV – Sit In (for the golf buggy types)
Let us go into a bit more detail.
Course Aims and Objectives
To provide the practical skills and the operating safety knowledge necessary for operators to correctly prepare, operate and maintain an All-Terrain Vehicle.
Delegate Eligibility & Entry Requirements
This course is designed for candidates of all abilities. We can assist candidates with any learning difficulties or where English may not be their first language, please mention when booking a course.
Course Duration
There are 3 levels of experience
- Novice: Where full training is required. 3 Candidates: 1 Machine: 1 Instructor: Duration 1-2 days
- Refresher and Test: Where candidates require refresher training and may need some remedial tuition. 3 Candidates: 1 Machine: 1 Instructor: 1 Day
- Experienced Worker Test (EWT): This is just testing only 6 Candidates: 1 Machine: 1 Instructor: 1 Day
There is also an alternative testing option for EWT candidates. As there are different variations of ATV, we are able to test on both
For example:
Experienced Worker Test (EWT): 3 Candidates: 2 Machines: 1 Instructor: 1 Day
i.e. 3 candidates tested on both Sit Astride and Sit in ATV’s ~ i.e. 6 tests in one day.
Training and Testing
All our courses can be registered with NPORS. They consist of a theory session, which for novice courses include full training and presentation. Refresher and test courses are just a recap of training any changes in legislation or updates on new regulations etc. Whereas Experienced Workers Tests, are straight in to the theory test, which consists of 5 questions to answer in full, and 20 multiple choice. The theory test required pass mark is 80%.
So why use Kentra Training? As many of you know Kentra was established in 1997 by Norman Kennish. Straight away the company registered with NPORS as a training provider.
